Outside Sales Representative

Location: New York

Rich Brilliant Willing is seeking to immediately hire an outside sales representative to call on New York based architecture and interior design firms. This job is about diligence, organization, passion, and winning! Primary responsibilities are focused on opportunity management: early stage outreach, minimal to moderate project management, and maintaining relationships post-sale. Great phone skills and ability to qualify leads quickly are prized assets here. Work directly with co founder and Sales Director, Alexander Williams and alongside our incredible team of salespeople, designers and production staff. The ideal candidate loves sales and contemporary design, is well connected with the contract interiors industry and excels in a competitive team environment with ambitious goal setting and rigorous tracking. Your job will be to present our unique story and acclaimed line of contemporary LED light fixtures to New York based interiors specifiers, engaging them at every level of project planning. In addition to nurturing some of our well established relationships, pounding the pavement and making new inroads at NYC’s top firms will be key. Your weekly schedule will take you through everything from cold calling to hosting high level dinners and events.

Though experience specific to decorative lighting is not required, strong familiarity with the NYC interiors community is a must. You are fully invested in a career in sales and taking on a leadership role within a quickly growing Brooklyn based manufacturing brand. You will be based out of our West 20th Street, Manhattan showroom, working alongside a sales team of 5+. We keep daily office hours (9:30 to 6pm), beginning with a team meeting at 9:30am and team debrief at 5:30pm, with time in between devoted to maximizing in person interaction with our clients.

Key Activities

  • Weekly, multiple, in-person presentations to architecture and interior design offices with samples
  • Qualifying prospective customers and opportunities
  • Following RBW weekly checklist for sales procedure
  • Follow up on inquiries and quotes
  • Post-sale project management and reinforcement
  • Hosting sales events at RBW headquarters
  • Creating estimates & Sales orders in Quickbooks
  • Working at trade fair stands
  • Achieving and reporting weekly personal KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Use of Asana to manage tasks​

Annual Schedule

As an outside sales representative for RBW you will be working 3-4 trade shows annually, located in NYC, Chicago, LA, Milan etc, as well as quarterly travel to domestic regional showrooms, reps and specifiers.

Experience & Skills

  • 1+ years experience with cold calling-familiarity with a repeatable sales process a plus (all our sales people attend Sandler Boot Camp)
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Quickbooks
  • Ability to lift 15-20 pounds *required (you will carry samples and literature)

Compensation comparable with major markets. 80% Healthcare contribution, pre-tax transit discounts, 10 paid days off per year + 10 paid holidays, 5% 401K matching with commission and performance based bonus.
